(Sharing) Hamada Dramas Super Post

Hey guys, since Hamada is my favorite, I’ve been hunting down a lot of his dramas. I really like seeing him in different roles. I bought two boxsets and found the rest on the net. All of these are RAW. So if anyone want to sub them, by all means please do.

Enjoy. ;)

Ryoma ni Omakase! (NTV, 1996) (right when you think it’s going to get serious, something silly happens)

SamuraiArchives forum
A samurai drama for the young and old. It is based on a real historical samurai figure named Sakamoto Ryoma (played by Hamada) in the mid-1800s. It’s different from normal samurai dramas because it’s much more humorous than it should be serious. It’s also "modernized" to entertain the young and hip such as headphones and Twister games that pop up in the drama, and let’s not leave out silly action-packed-thrillers (ex: a pack of samurai fighters skipping)! So for those who are looking for some serious drama about samurai history, this is not exactly what you are looking for. A few of the many actors (also many actresses) are Hamada (DOWNTOWN) and of course, Takashi Sorimachi.

Kenji Onijima Heihachiro (TV Asahi, 2010)

(haven’t finished yet, Hamada seems to help people in a really round about way, even if it causes him to get in trouble. Itao is weird in this, reminds me of Matsumoto’s role in Ashita ga aru sa)

DramaWiki
In the drama, Hamada plays the titular Onijima Heihachiro, a 44-year-old man who becomes a public prosecutor due to an incident 6 years earlier, where his older sister committed suicide after being caught up in a political scandal. The unyielding Onijima fights to uphold his views of what is right as he takes on Japan’s legal system. The female lead, an elite public prosecutor who is the polar opposite of Onijima, will be played by Uchida Yuki.

Jinsei wa Jojo da (TBS, 1995) (this one starts out light and funny and then went super dark, very interesting role Hamada plays)

DramaWiki
Hachiro(Hamada) is a former boxer, now working as a debt collector for a finance company. He is sent to collect money from Kazuma(Kimura), a former trainee doctor who has fallen on hard times ever since the suicide of his girlfriend. Hachiro pursues Kazuma into a bank, where Kazuma convinces the staff that the debt collector is in fact an armed robber. Although he is falsely arrested, Hachiro develops a liking for the roguish renegade and even offers to help him evade other debt collectors.

I got it from a torrent…now I can’t find the torrent. |(

Hitoribocchi no Kimi ni (TBS, 1998) (this one gets me right in the feels, Hamada has some great chemistry with kids)

DramaWiki
His mother having left him, nine year-old Yudai is forced to live alone and steal from a local convenience store in order to survive. Pursuing the wily thief to get back the stolen merchandise is the first act on the job for newly-arrived Shintaro(Hamada), manager of the convenience store. Shintaro soon learns of Yudai’s predicament however, and decides to take him in. Becoming his new family, Shintaro and his assistant, Satomi, soon discover that caring for a young boy who has such a troubled past and who is accustomed to fending for himself may be more than they can handle

Yume no Mitsukekata Oshietaru! (FujiTV, 2008)(shared this before, think it’s better to have everything together)

Yume no Mitsukekata Oshietaru! 2 (FujiTV, 2010) (haven’t watched yet)

AsianWiki
Imamura (Masatoshi Hamada), a temporary elementary school teacher is placed in charge of a sixth grade class. The students have been divided into two groups: One will be advancing to a private junior high school and the other to a public junior high school. The separation leads to a constant state of conflict.

Imamura himself was a rebellious youth, and though he tries to hide his background, the school nurse, Chikako (Naoko Iijima), recognizes a rebel when she sees one, since she herself was a member of a notorious female gang in high school. She tells Imamura that their respective rebellious pasts will be their own little secrets.

Wow thank you! This must have taken some time to put together.
I’ve been wanting to watch Ryoma ni Omakase for a long time but never able to find anything but short clips.
And all these other dramas to go through too! Thanks again

This is great! Thanks for your time and effort in putting this together.

I stumbled across by accident images of Hitoribocchi No Kimi Ni and thought it looked really heartwarming just from the short description, I thought it’s a perfect contrast to his Sadist Hamada role. I think sometimes it’s easy to forget that is an act, in these dramas you get to see the softer side to his acting.
I’ll have to check it out, though I won’t understand a word, it just looks so cute and funny. :inlove:

Here’s some clips of it on Youtube for anyone curious (after the man talking at the start as it seems to be some drama promo show, there’s also a very short clip of Hamada speaking to promote it)

Thanks also for Ryoma ni Omakase, I’d found really old copies of it on Clubbox but no doubt your version will be much better quality. :)

That little boy in Hitoribocchi no kimi ni later acted as his colleague in Kenji Onijima Heihachiro!
