I love watching other people play this game, especially at night…hilarious!
You can note slight differences with the alpha version also, however I’m not sure whether some of the changes were less or more "scary". Either way, it’s interesting to compare!

after playing this game ALONE at night and with headphones, I discovered there was a lil girl inside of me screaming
I can barely play this game. WAY too scary, and plus not having any weapons makes it like 10 times harder to WANT to play.

I initially was not gonna play it but seeing only $4 a couple weeks ago I just could not pass up such a great deal so I got it. Being creative to survive is actually kind of fun, as is Penumbra. You have weapons in the games but the mechanics to use them are a bit awkward (Using button and moving mouse to swing/thrust).

I play the game alone, in the darkness and with the volume cranked on my good 2.1 system to maximize atmosphere. I admit several times I was both spooked and scared out of surprise the 12 or so hours I’ve played it so far.
