I just found out that Itao Itsuji´s daughter passed away at a very young age ;( Does anyone have more info on that? I honestly started to cry when I found out. He seems like such a serious guy, even though he is a comedian. Is this the reason why?
"Hamada. Are you vertically challenged?"
In Hotel Batsu he made a small appearance (even smaller than usual) riding a horse. Back then it was very appreciated, because his daughter had passed away quite recently.
Itao has always been a great deadpan comedian. It's just his style. Even from way before, during the Gottsu Ee Kanji series, until today.

About his daughter, there are some more info here:

The looks on the guys' faces when Itao shows up in the Hotel Batsu and the laughs, I think, was because they were genuinely happy to see him. All things considered, I thought it was a really nice moment.

I've heard from various sources that it was SIDS.
