Make do taiyaki?

Was re-watching the absolutely tasty yeasterday, the one with taiyaki.

I want to make some. I have no taiyaki-pan. I have a problem. Or do I?

I was wondering…

You know the pan where you stuff two sandwiches together with cheese and tomatoes inside and warm them up? Isn´t that pan pretty much the same thing as the taiyaki-pan, except the shape? Has anyone tried?

I don’t think a sandwitch cooker will be deep enough? But I don’t know. You can try! :D

It was deep enough but the batter didn’t work:( I used pancake-batter. Have to try waffle-batter next time;). unfortunately though, I think the sandwitch cooker might not be hot enough:p
