Cool film, You still see sights of the occupation of the allies forces. Today just happens to be the 70th anniversary of VJ Day. Looks like to was shot most likely by a western reporter.

But on a lighter note at 1:58 after the two girls move behind them is Arino the Kachō! from Gamecentre CX! Has he made a time machine out of old consoles??

That’s amazing footage, the quality is so good for the time period! Thanks for sharing.

At [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNmhiTFeyiY&feature=youtu.be&t=71:2mrmo5bp]about 1:11[/url:2mrmo5bp] on the right I saw one of the soldiers get his hat knocked off because he’s too tall for the canopies

Haha, I see what you did there  That outfit he’s wearing does look familiar!

Great footage indeed.
After the war and during the occupation there was a huge censorship and no one was able to film the consequences of the war, or even the occupation itself. War was over, and so was the sacrifice that all Japanese were supposed to make for the nation. Reconstruction, street markets, Japanese and western clothing, rails without trams, empty docks, military vehicles and restricted areas for the US Army. No rubbles to be seen, perhaps due to censorship, but a great video.

Oh, I didn’t notice that part with the soldier :D
Arino… xD
