Just to follow up, the world on the screen used by endo is ”ほちい”
Hoshii(proper word) is indeed to want but if your tried to use it like it was translated in the batsu you are more or less making a statement, demand or a wish. Not actually being polite. But i understand why they translated it as such because… how do make want… cute… Just my 2 cents.
