Hotel Man Sub Files

It's .ass, when I burned with mp4 to DVD, it didn't work when I played it at DVD player.

Why?

Must I convert to .srt?

can't download subs, they are deleted from the hosts, or need password.
any possibility of re-uploading them? thanks
