guys... i have this file already... but when i watch it on my tv via external hdd, there are no subs... but if i play it on my laptop via VLC it has subs... pls help

When you have a separate subtitle file and video file you need software to combine them (like VLC does). Simplest thing would be to hook your laptop up to the TV with a HDMI cable then you can use the VLC on your laptop.
With just your TV and the external HDD, you'll need a hardsub (where the subtitles are part of the video image - no separate files). There are some hardsub download links in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4411

For some reason, I can't get the subtitles to display. I just get a "TG" on the screen.
