Hamada-related musings...

I was wondering. I have read somewhere that Hamada´s father had some problems with the Yakuza. And it hit me while re-watching spy batsu that every-time, not only in this ep, whenever there is "shooting"/risk of shooting/explosions and the like, Hamada is the first to react and jump away/hide/cover/protect his face with his arms. Could this somehow be related? Matsumoto is quite quick as well but not nearly as quick as Hamada.

Just a thought… :?:

I always thought Tanaka was the most skittish.
The story, as I remember it is that Hamada’s father’s business partner was the one who had trouble with yakuza, and the duty to pay off the collectors fell on Hamada’s dad. As far as I know, the debt was paid but it left the Hamada family skint which is about the time he met Matsumoto.

hm, Tanaka is the most skittish one over all yes, but Hamada reacts quicker and hides/covers the most when it happens. Tanaka more like freezes… Ok, business-partner, not the father himself, thank you for the correction. But still, Yakuza-related…

That’s the rumour anyway, but not all loan sharks in Japan are Yakuza.
