Rola Card game?

Hi!

This might be in the wrong forum but still. You remember the episode where the gaki-boys where playing a card game with Rola (and in an episode after that with another guy)? I was wondering if that game is a version of this one http://kids.nifty.com/card/carta/001_100nin/index.htm

From what I found in wikipedia the one I found (the link) is a new year´s holiday card game consisting of 100 poets with a poem each and where you have to match each person with the corresponding poem. Is it the same with the one from Rora and the other guy? What are the rules for their games? IS there anyone here on the forum who has played it?

I take it you are more curious about this Japanese tradition than the game Rola made herself.

Here’s Wikipedia entry[/url:2oryzl3t] (your "(the link)" not working), manga/anime[/url:2oryzl3t], and actual play[/url:2oryzl3t] (YouTube) to look at.

Her version was a more simple form of karuta that is usually aimed at kids.
A passage of text is read, and the players must find the card with the letter that the passage started with.

I have an Ultraman version and Doraemon version of this game from when I was a little kid.

Chihayafuru is a great anime. I really enjoyed it. I need to check out the 2nd season sometime.
I didn’t watch it but last year there was also the anime "Chouyaku Hyakuninisshu: Uta Koi". Which is supposed to be a liberal retelling of the 100 poem stories the cards are based around.
There’s clips on Youtube of matches in action e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRm4UB2z7E8
Though as GodzillaRadio says, the game in the episodes is simpler than the 100 poems Karuta game.
