Thanks to an idea from VideogameDC here ([url:2yx7gxf7]http://www.gaki-no-tsukai.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&p=50250#postingbox[/url:2yx7gxf7]) in the latest episode thread, I managed to find data for Gaki no Tsukai’s 2014 television ratings in order to see which broadcasts rated highest. I got the data mainly from:

Some notes:

  • September was the best performing month with an average of 9.45% across 4 episodes
  • March was the worst performing month with an average of 6.74% across 5 episodes
  • There were 7 double figure rating episodes for the year. To give some context, double rating figures are considered a must in primetime TV in Japan, but it is a bonus for any program like Gaki which is broadcast close to midnight and therefore would not usually get double figures
  • September 21st and 28th was the fortnight to have double figure ratings back to back in a few years
  • I Think You Like This Item had 4 editions, making it the most covered project for the year and also the highest rating project with 9.425% across all episodes

Nice find, you actually put all the necessary info about the ratings. This means that the Gaki crew base their Top 10’s on the ratings from the best to not-so-best episode of each year,

This week’s episode attracted a figure of 7%, a 1.1% increase on last week.
