I watched the anime just earlier this year so this was pretty entertaining.
The characters dying and being revived all the time was definitely one of the most frustrating aspects. It was impossible to take any of the "deathmatches" seriously once it became clear that everyone keeps coming back.

Haha, yeah I could imagine that getting in the way of the seriousness.
It’s a funny looking back at it now though.
