The Good, The Bad, and The Weird.

I really like this one, action adventure, good heart warming story, old western like shoot outs. The visual effects are great, also GOOD COMEDY!

you’ve probably seen it but oldboy is really good. also check out "friend"

I recommend you watch these Korean movies :)
Previously people have put The Vengeance Trilogy & A Tale of Two Sisters, I would of said these myself too ;)
Other good Korean movies:
(Horror/Thriller/Drama)
The Ring Virus
Phone
Into the mirror
The wig
R-Point
(Disaster/Monster)
Tidal wave
The host
(Martial Arts/Action/Comedy)
Volcano High
Woochi: The Demon Slayer

Hmmmm… most of your selections are comedies, genres that I didn’t get to see a lot. Care to sample the twisted world of Park Chan Woo? I wouldn’t recommend his Vengance trilogy to you though, try these instead:

[img:2rub1j1y]http://www.oneinchpunch.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/thirst.jpg[/img:2rub1j1y]
Is it a horror movie? drama? sci-fi? black comedy? This mish mash of genres is one of the funniest and saddest vampire movie every written. Not one of Chan Woo’s best, but still a very refreshing take on the tired vampire genre.

A double murder on the North/South Korean demilitarized zone? Differing alibis from both South and North korean border guards involved? An investigation by the neutral Swedish born korean investigator? This is an intense, very dramatic thriller with the still touchy Korean unification as a subject. Hollywood is remaking this as a movie about murders in the US/Mexico border, won’t have the same impact I’m sure…

Also try Bong Joon ho’s The Host, that popular monster/drama/comedy movie.

No , i haven’t seen them. I’ll let you know once I do, thanks ! :)

For me, Thirst was a terrible movie. JSA was really good though. The Vengeance Trilogy is good too, my favourite was the last one. They’re remaking Oldboy in Hollywood. I seriously doubt it will be as good as Park’s version. Sassy Girl was a little strange for me, but it seems to be a global favourite. Memory of a Murder was recommended by a video store clerk, and it has to be one of the best movies I have ever seen. Another one you might try is Bin Jip or 3-Iron. It’s a romance/drama but it’s still really good.

Thanks for your reviews on the movies. I’ll check out Bin Jip and 3-Iron too. :)

Memories of Murder and the Vengeance trilogy (Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, OldBoy, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance) are masterpieces.
The Host is quite good and really entertaining. Now there’s a great one called The Yellow Sea, which is another MUST SEE. Also dealing with North Korea, the mentioned JSA and Silmido.

Volcano High School is also entertaining. In the same line of martial arts + comedy there is Arahan.

I remember a horror one called The Wig, which had very few good moments, but was pretty average overall
Beware of old Korean martial arts movies, since they are somehow crappy as low budget wu-xia/chambara imitations (you can still have quite a few laughs with the korean Dragon Ball when you’re drunk). If you like crappy movies, then you shall see D-Wars… and let me know if you survive :D

It’s nice, but the HUGE and major problem I see (it happens with a lot of trailers these days) is that WAY TOO MUCH is shown, as if they show you everything from the very trailer u__u.

Arang is a great movie.
