edit) just because I had the pics lying around, I'll show you too, what encoding a file twice (here to hardsub it) does to the quality:

the filesize is bigger, the colors are off and wrong, there are tons of extra blocks and pixelation
oh... and if its now uploaded to youtube it gets encoded a third time
