Seeing Gaki members live

Hi guys,
I am traveling to Japan in december and I will be in Osaka and Tokyo for few days. Of course, I would like to see my favourite comedians, so any tips? :)

Like performane in theatre every sunday or something like this?

I also once read about club where they started, but I cannot remember where. Does anyone know name of the club?

Stalking outside Nippon TV 24/7 would be your best bet.

There’s a thread somewhere on the forum with a similar question, I think the consensus was to write into NTV via whatever address they have for picking out live audience members for shows or some address on the official Japanese Gaki website. If you can read Japanese I bet there’s some discussion somewhere on Japanese forums about it.

Outside of an actual Gaki no Tsukai episode, you can probably get to see Yamasaki via one of his rakugo live shows in the Kansai region, so you might have a chance around Osaka. He posts dates and details on his Twitter:

Rakugo is basically like stand-up comedy (but sitting down), sometimes they tell traditional comedy stories in their own style or they simply tell funny stories. Here’s an example in English:

Sometimes he even tells of funny experiences stemming from Gaki no Tsukai. Like the time an airport security gate alarm went off and the guard on duty shouted "Yamasaki, OUT!".
He also acts in theatre stage shows via Lumine the Yoshimoto etc.

I’m not sure if the others also have live shows or events they do.

I don’t know about a club but the Kansai region theatre they got their big break at before moving to Tokyo to start Gaki no Tsukai is sadly no longer standing. You can find info here about that:

I will see Yamasaki on September 30th in Osaka :) He’s performing on stage there while I’m in Japan, can’t wait to see that!

Oh cool :o Is it a rakugo gig or a play he’s acting in at the time?
Sometimes after rakugo gigs there’s a chance to take a photo with him or he does signatures/book signings, but dunno how often it happens though, some performance areas may not allow the time between acts etc.
Either way let us know how it goes!

It’s a Raguko gig yes. I will try to make a little review here. I hope I can take some pictures of the event too, being the only foreigner here I will surely be noticed haha, maybe I can share a few words with him as well… Finger crossed!

A few months ago a person on this forum said he met Tanaka at some sort of pool event.
He said he took some pictures but I don’t think he posted them yet.
