If I'm correct, there are two subfiles because there are two video files that were ripped from the DVD. The first sub file is for the first half of the DVD, and the second sub file is for the second half of the DVD.
The subs should be in the "Completed" section.

You might have to start over because I don't know what files you have. Sounds like you download the edited for TV version of the Police Batsu, and I don't think sub files exist for it.

First: Download the 2-part Police Batsu DVD Version, which can be found here -
No-Laughing Police Station (2006) [DVD VERSION AVAILABLE!]

Second: Download the 2-part Police Batsu subs, which can be found here -
Sub files for the Police Series

Put all the files are in the same folder, and make sure you name the sub files the same name as the videos with ".ass" at the end of the sub files, for example -
PoliceBatsu1 (Video)
PoliceBatsu1.ass (Subtitles)

I use the VLC media player, that way when I open the video file, it opens the corresponding sub file with it.

It is the DVD version (in 2 parts) and not the TVRIP (1 part) that you can watch with subs
